Mexico-Costa Rica to open futsal finals
The Futsal World Cup 2012 Thailand qualifying moves over to Guatemala city next for the Confederation of North, Central American & Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF).
The complete schedule has Mexico playing Costa Rica, St. Kitts & Nevis taking on Cuba and the United States facing off against Panama to open the six-day event, July 2-8 in Guatemala City.
The host will play the two-time champion Americans in the final match of the group stage on Wednesday July 4, with the semifinals set for Friday and the third-place and championship match two days later.
All four semifinalists will qualify for the World Cup November 2-18 in Thailand.
With Group B consisting of Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica and St. Kitts, Group A will be comprised of Guatemala, the United States, Panama and either Canada or El Salvador. The latter two will engage in a two-game playoff in Guatemala City June 28 and June 29 to determine the eighth and last team in the field.
